Jada Gibson

M.S. Clinical Intern, Johns Hopkins University

Jada Gibson (Pronouns: She/Her/Hers) joins Asé as a counseling intern while pursuing her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University.

She received her B.A. in Psychological and Brain Sciences from The George Washington

University in 2022. She is under the supervision of Michelle Collins, LCMFT.

Growing up in a community filled with unique, creative expressions of life and love,

Jada is no stranger to the power of the arts and creativity being used to build and strengthen community. She is also familiar with her community being underrepresented and under-resourced in an equitable and culturally competent mental health care world. Both mental wellness and creative expression are initiatives that Jada is passionate about and this realization led to her mission: to amplify BIPOC voices by welcoming passion and creativity as a tool for growth in each person’s mental health journey.

Jada values bringing mindfulness, creativity, and strength-based approaches into sessions. Through a person-centered perspective, she welcomes her clients with a collaborative and empathic attitude. Jada’s goal is to normalize therapy to a diverse range of individuals by making services more accessible to clients and tailoring sessions to each individual’s unique needs. She hopes to give clients a safe space to authentically find themselves, be themselves, and create meaningful change and acceptance in their lives.

Outside the therapy space, Jada enjoys making music, exploring new bookstores with friends, and engaging in a new hobby every week!
