Samina Khawaja, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Samina (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the District of Columbia and Virginia; she has over a decade of experience working with families and individuals in a variety of clinical settings.  She completed her Master’s in Community Counseling at Argosy University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Psychology and Psychology from the University of Virginia. 

Samina is passionate about working alongside youth, families, and individuals with purpose and respect.  She aims to guide families and individuals as they navigate difficult challenges, ease emotional burdens, and engage in self-expression and reflection.  Samina works to create a space where one can be their authentic self in order to embark on a meaningful journey of healing and growth. 


Samina is trained in a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities to include, but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Functional Family Therapy.  However, she believes that there is more to the incredibly complex human experience than any single approach or modality can capture. She utilizes a holistic and culturally sensitive approach to meet families and individuals where they are.
