Mikela Moore

M.S. Clinical Intern, Johns Hopkins University

Mikela (she/her/hers) is a first-generation college student currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Johns Hopkins University. She is under the clinical supervision of Michelle Collins, LCMFT.

After completing her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Pacific Lutheran University in 2013, she ventured into the education field primarily working with children and adolescence with Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. Mikela enjoys helping clients with neurodiverse identities  explore and affirm their experiences while promoting self-care and social-emotional skills.

Mikela believes that the body does keep the score - that is, traumatic stress can reshape both brain and body and manifest in unhelpful ways in our lives. As a certified trauma-sensitive yoga instructor and professional massage therapist, Mikela loves introducing her clients to different tools for emotional relief including embodied movement practices and meditation and mindfulness techniques. As a life long arts-and-crafter, she also enjoys bringing elements of creativity into therapy space. Mikela’s goal is to support her clients’ whole authentic self - body, mind, and spirit - on their journey towards healing and growth.
