Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?

I’m a music lover and love going to concerts and live music festivals. I also enjoy traveling and experiencing new places, food, and cultures.

What’s your philosophy on therapy, and how does therapy impact your clients?

Everyone doesn’t need therapy, but everyone can benefit from it. Many of my clients typically reach out to begin therapy for one challenge and often find themselves making connections to other parts of their lives and experiences that need healing.

What’s been one of your favorite moments in your own therapy?

Recognizing that I’d been making my negative life experiences part of my identity. I realized I don’t have to be what I’ve experienced or felt.

What does it mean for you to be a Black woman therapist?

It’s an honor to be a Black woman therapist holding emotional space for other Black folks along the journey to mental wellness. It feels good to be a part of the quest for healing for many Black folks. I can understand where they are coming from because we share similarities in our human experience. I get to be my authentic self and celebrate them feeling comfortable with showing up as themselves as well.

What’s your favorite book?

The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson

Who is your favorite musical artist?

Ugh, it’s hard to narrow it down to one, but I’ll go with Stevie Wonder. He’s a musical genius! I’m also inspired by his resilience.

What’s your affirmation you say to yourself when you’re struggling?

Today’s rain is watering the good seeds I’ve planted.
